Tejas
Singer | Songwriter | Podcaster
Tejas is India’s intrepid indie voice who tells stories about himself and everything he sees around him with depth and euphoria alike.
Raised in Dubai, Tejas soon found himself in Mumbai working in copywriting while also making his mark as a singer-songwriter influenced by the likes of KT Tunstall, The Beatles and more. It led to his debut EP Small Victories in 2014, followed by the wide-ranging 2017 debut album Make It Happen.
Along the way, Tejas has indulged in his inner pop culture geek to really come out, leading to podcasts as well as the media house-turned-band Geek Fruit. You may have occasionally heard the artist open his gigs with the emphatic The Powerpuff Girls theme, but that’s just one aspect of Tejas’ multicultural, multi-hued approach to everything he does. How else can you explain his sublime voice lighting up The Beatles’ “Across The Universe,” a rendition for the 2021 documentary The Beatles And India?
Within India, Tejas has supported fellow singer-songwriters like Lucy Rose in 2016 and Damien Rice in 2019, in addition to performing at mainstay music festivals like Bacardi NH7 Weekender, Kala Ghoda Arts Festival and Lollapalooza India.
More sonic aesthetics began swirling with the release of his second album Outlast in 2021 with vibrant songs like “The Bombay Doors” and more recently, his EP Museum in 2024 that brought in Indian classical instrumentation.
Along the way, Tejas got to make his foray into film music after years of voiceover work, becoming the singing voice of beloved comic book character Archie Andrews for the Netflix movie The Archies in 2023.
