For Mumbai singer-songwriter pruthvi (aka Pruthvi Dhawale), connections are the fuel for making impactful, relatable music.

Mumbai-based pruthvi’s music – intentionally crafted with an intimate sonic aesthetic that makes you feel comforted – comes from her bedroom studio, retaining a genuineness and sense of vulnerability.

Aided by the unassuming uke, her songs and covers soothed minds and hearts right from the pandemic. Then, pruthvi released her first single “send this to your crush” in 2022, ticking all the boxes when it comes to being cheeky but also showing candor.

The song went on to become part of pruthvi’s debut EP songs about you (not for you), released later in 2022. Intimate, wavy songs like “girl next door” were clear winners. In the years since, she was one of the top 24 contestants in the talent showcase NEXA Music, earning an audience with legendary composer A.R. Rahman.

In 2024, pruthvi takes to indie, folk, and pop, with influences like Phoebe Bridgers with the song “twentytwo,” which got her on the cover of Spotify’s Fresh Finds India playlist. Now, she steps into the boat that navigates the choppy waters that bring questionable choices and the universally dreaded notion of adulting, speaking to everyone and herself all at once.
